My duo partner is mostly support. The matchmaking we see as a duo seems unusually hard. Well, solo queue games for each of us and we sit in the same room to witness this are much easier! After going solo queue, i went and quickly found my way back to Gold. So, it seems the system is doing something to make duo games extra hard. Rather than essentially being punished for the effort of trying to play together. I feel like the system is trying to over compensate and cancel out any advantage someone might have, which seems like a noble goal at first glance. Great game, but a bit frustrating over the long haul due to that. Or, seems much stronger in a regular duo.
League of Legends: the problems of (and solutions to) positional matchmaking
Competitive mode will be available soon after patch 0. VALORANT’s competitive system is still in its early stages, and we plan to evolve it over time, but we have a core experience we wanted to share with you all in closed beta so that we can build and evolve the mode together. While we plan to keep Unrated mode always available, Competitive matchmaking may be disabled for short periods throughout the closed beta as we work to refine the mode and incorporate your feedback.

However, due to the urgency of this issue, we were not able to notify you about this change beforehand. We are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience we have caused by this.
We suggest NA players to temporarily play on Squad mode and we hope you can make some new friends while adventuring in-game.

It can be addicting to play, entertaining to watch and even has a profound professional scene behind it. To its credit, Riot finally seems to be listening. It has always been hard to differentiate between players who have just been having bad games to a player that is intentionally trolling and giving up on trying to win a match. Riot Games has acknowledged that it need to prioritize addressing this kind of behavior. The team plans to tweak the system enough to establish a suitable balance in light of player feedback.
This includes testing a new matchmaking algorithm, which will be implemented in early preseason to prevent it from impacting the current season. The old system also did not accurately account for players in an auto-filled position or Red vs. Blue side win rate calibrations that make one side of the map slightly easier to win on. This means that, when climbing from Gold II to Gold I, players will no longer have to win a best of three.
Moving up to a different division will still require a best of five promotional series. A solo/duo queue, like in League of Legends, combined with a dedicated who’s unhappy with the current state of VALORANT’s matchmaking.
Which rank a League of Legends player is placed in depends on two different ranking systems. This is true for all game modes, including both ranked or normal. This is due to their MMR. If a player has a negative win rate, meaning they recently lost most of their games, the MMR system will conclude their matchmaking placement is too high for their skill level, thus lowering the rating. The opposite happens for more positive win rates and for win streaks.
Streaks will make players gradually gain or lose more or less MMR, depending on the nature of the streak. Players can place in iron, bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond, master, grandmaster, and challenger ranks. Ranks lower than master each have five divisions, while higher ranks are single-tier ranks reserved for only the very best players and solely depend on LP. These points are earned through wins and taken away for losses. Players need to earn LP to get an opportunity to climb a division.
Once LP is earned, they need to win most of the matches in a promotional series to reach the next level. On rare occasions, players will skip a division, but this highly depends on their MMR. Once a few matches are lost at 0 LP, players will be demoted. All of these metrics are taken in mind to calculate if a player is competing with players of an appropriate skill level.
Here’s how MMR and LP work to affect your League of Legends rank
Almost all the major online games now come with some form of skill-based matchmaking system from day one. However, the current implementation is not working as intended. The community is constantly complaining about this skill-based system that is either matching them against really low skilled players or with players who are really good at this game. To clarify on solo duo queue: we want to create a system that is fair for both teams and individuals to play in while avoiding the downsides of creating two queues longer queue times, asymmetrical queue health.
We are continuing to working towards that. The game director of VALORANT recently shared his opinion on solo and duo queue and how they implemented such a system that would compliment both queues without compromising the each other. As a result, players are now getting matched against players of vastly different skill levels.

February – last edited February. There should be 4 queues, ranked solos, ranked duos, and ranked trios, and casual entirely random as a trio. This way the playerbase has a choice if they would rather play alone, as a duo, or as the classic squad mode. The reason each queue should be ranked base is so you end up with players that are actually your skill level vs the game doing a horrible guess with SBMM which should of never existed in the first place.
I havnt spent the time to think everything out and it was just an idea I had while playing. Also it will take some time for everyone to balance out where they belong so early game everyone will be getting destroyed by players above there skill level for awhile but its no biggy it will only be like apex used to be before SBMM awhile eventually it will be better than the current state of apex.
The matchmaking system will treat your MMR as being higher than it is to compensate Is it hard to play solo queue or is squad/duo queue harder in PUBG, Fortnite, So, I quit league of legends for a month and since then I tried to find other.
This is becoming the norm and is leaving fans and pros alike, very frustrated. The Ranked games for higher levels are volatile, going up against a full five-stack is obviously going to be harder than a team of five solos. But the requirements for Ranked are concrete and rated on individual performance, so becoming a higher level than your preferred teammates can happen on occasion, leaving you unable to queue with them, and left to the hellish landscape that is solo-queuing.
Had such a high rating in comparison to my 4 teammates now all four of them can no longer queue with me I’ll keep you posted. And we can see from the very first game of the clip below that TenZ did not fare well in this exchange and provides more than enough evidence as to why the current queue system is not working.
In the latest VALORANT news , players all over the internet most notably on Reddit are calling for Riot Games devs to implement a similar queueing system to League of Legends and their Competitive mode, to prevent the all-out murdering when a team of five individuals comes up against a pre-made team of five. Flex, however, allows for any group size, including a full pre-made team, where you will most likely verse similarly grouped players.

It’s only been two months since the League of Legends ‘ ranked queue reopened, and already many of us have started to climb the ladder. A perfect time for Riot Games to address our concerns by communicating their avenues of work for the upcoming year. Valorant continues to be impressively successful during its closed beta. But with launch looming, players are beginning to question the lack of certain features and options. One question that answered by Riot recently regards a pure solo matchmaking option in Valorant, or, more specifically, why there isn’t a pure solo matchmaking option in Valorant. Riot Games revealed what they will be doing in to improve ranked play and matchmaking in League of Legends. Ever since the smash-hit MOBA released, there has always been a discussion around it on how balanced it is. With thousands upon thousands of daily players, it can be increasingly difficult to get a fair match for everybody. However, that’s exactly what Riot are looking to do in , and they released a lengthy blog post going into great detail about what they’ll be targeting.
Their goals that are laid out include speeding up the queue times while also making sure they don’t compromise the quality of the match. The last thing players want is to wait several minutes for a game only to be steamrolled by better players. The developers are going to target that in two different ways — autofill and duo balance. These two changes are nearly ready for launch, and Riot sounds confident they will make the game more playable for everybody.
This is the first update for ranked and matchmaking this year. Some nice matchmaking improvements are imminent autofill and duo parity. These changes will balance the number of premades on each team, which sounds like it’ll make it less likely you’ll run into a team of friends while playing solo. This isn’t a problem that’s exclusive to League, so this will definitely be something that’ll be appreciated. On the autofill front, Riot say they will make the system more “informed,” meaning they will balance the positions that are filled as well.
The team believes there are some small tweaks that can be made that will not risk messing up anything else that’s currently working as intended.
